We're pleased to have long-time friend and GLAWS member share some of her unique perspective on the Publishing Industry from the viewpoint of a professional insider. Now retired from a well-known and respected agency* to write and teach, her "confessions" details the good, the bad, and the reality of the Publishing Industry in New York. No writer should miss this special event. It is not for the faint of heart or the squeamish. Come prepared for a different kind of reality show, and hopefully leave with a smile and a fresh outlook on the world of publishing as it exists today and the literary agents trying to survive it. Ms. Dumars will also have information on her upcoming workshops for writers. GLAWS members are welcome to join us for dinner afterwards to continue the discussion and network on a more personal basis with our Guest of Honor and fellow members. The Greater Los Angeles Writers Society is a non-profit organization that provides a forum for writers of all disciplines to meet and discuss the craft and the business of writing. GLAWS accomplishes this through monthly meetings, discussion forums, critique groups, special writer appearances, conferences, and other events conducted for the purpose of educating and mentoring writers of all levels of expertise.
